Tony Chilton, Ph.D.
Vice President
Research and Bioanalytical

Dr. Tony Chilton is Vice President of Magellan Research and Bioanalytical Laboratories. Dr. Tony Chilton received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of East Anglia, UK in 1981, and his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from University of Hertfordshire/Glaxo Research and Development in 1993. Upon graduation, he worked in the drugs and toxicology department for The Forensic Science Laboratory in Birmingham, UK. There, he worked with crime and coroner samples ranging from plasma to organs and tissues.

In 1981, he joined Glaxo Research and Development in the UK as a Senior Scientist in the Drug Metabolism Department. He was involved in the drug development programs supporting pre-clinical and clinical phase I and II studies. He then moved to drug discovery and implemented application of LCMS techniques to bioanalytical support.

In 1995, Dr. Chilton moved his family to Montreal, Canada where he took a position with Phoenix International Life Sciences as the Director of LCMSMS R&D. His group provided quantitative and qualitative LCMS support for drug discovery and developed ca. 100-120 new bioanalytical assays a year. Dr. Chilton then took a position as Executive Vice President with L.A.B. Pharmacological Research International, Inc.

In 1998, he joined Magellan Laboratories to build the Research and Bioanalytical Organization focusing on drug research support, pre-clinical and clinical bioanalytical support.
